Abstract

The Ogilvie syndrome is frequently seen in elderly patients who have additional diseases. Since its morbidity and mortality, it continues to maintain its importance nowadays. It does not have any specific symptoms and computed tomography is effective during diagnosis. Ogilvie syndrome should be considered in elderly patients with colonic obstruction symptoms although the pathology of which cannot be determined that may cause obstruction. In this report, we present a 73-year-old male case, which was diagnosed with Ogilvie syndrome and treated conservatively, in the light of literature.
