Abstract

Metformin is the most commonly prescribed oral antidiabetic. Its most serious side effect is lactic acidosis. Early diagnosis and early hemodialysis are the most important factors that reduce mortality. Here, we present a case of lactic acidosis and acute pancreatitis due to metformin intoxication, possibly caused by unknown renal insufficiency.
