Abstract

Renal infarction is an arterial vascular appearance causing damage in renal tissues. Its etiology may include more than one cause. Among these, we may name thromboembolism, thrombus arising from the heart or aorta, renal artery damage, and prothrombotic conditions. Less common causes include fibromuscular dysplasia, usage of cocaine and idiopathic cases. In this article, we discussed two cases with different etiologies presenting with renal infarct. In the second case, no cause could be detected in the etiology of the renal infarct. Renal artery dissection following heavy-lifting and thrombosis, renal infarction was considered as a possible factor in its etiology. Renal artery thrombosis or renal infarct should be considered in the differential diagnosis of cases applying to emergency service with acute abdominal or side pain of which their nature has not been detected yet.
